How my wellness journey began
In January 2018, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer - Estrogen-Positive, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (DCIS meaning in the milk ducts). Requiring a left mastectomy with full lymph node clearance, further treatment included adjuvant therapy; chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and 10 years of hormone treatment.
As a wife and mother, I aimed to stay as normal and healthy as possible during my treatment. After my diagnosis, I researched my Breast Cancer type and how to support my health. Studies showed eating well, drinking water, exercising, getting fresh air, and resting help. I cut out processed foods and some meats, eating more vegetables, fruits, beans, and legumes, following a mostly plant-based diet with organic choices when I could. I avoided foods with harmful estrogen and ate ones rich in phytoestrogens, like soy and legumes, which provide weaker estrogen to balance the body. I also drank green tea, drank more water, walked outside, did yoga, and switched to natural skincare products without parabens or chemicals.
Taking care of yourself, staying positive, living healthy, and using modern medicine help you stay strong and face challenges. After beating cancer, I keep this healthy lifestyle (in balance, life is for living!) because it makes me feel good both physically and mentally. I change habits when needed, enjoy regular exercise with family and friends, and avoid stress or harmful habits.
Before my breast cancer diagnosis, I worked as a Clinical Research Nurse with 20 years of experience. Now, I use my nursing skills to help others live healthier, happier lives. My nursing background gives me knowledge, confidence, and the ability to care for and support others. Going through cancer treatment taught me to listen to my body, find solutions, and see results. It's important to have a purpose and a reachable goal.
With this experience, I chose to be a Health Coach to help others reach their health goals, prevent illness, and live longer, healthier lives. I provide 1:1 coaching with personalized plans, support, and guidance to help people make better health choices and change habits.
I offer health coaching and facial treatments that relax the face, neck, and shoulders using lymphatic drainage to remove toxins and refresh the skin. I use natural, organic, vegan, cruelty-free, and carbon-neutral products like Tropic, with no harmful chemicals or hormones. My facials help nourish your skin, support self-care, and boost your wellness and confidence.
As part of mt role as a Health and Wellness Practitioner, I always listen to what my clients wants and needs plus to aim to remain current. The lymphatic system has always fascinated me as it plays such a fundamental role in healing. Using my nursing knowledge and qualifications I got accepted on an accredited Manual Lymphatic Drainage diploma course. Here I developed my skills and learnt the Dr Vodder massage technique to offer a therapeutic, full body lymph drainage treatment.
Eat healthy foods. Move every day. Spend time outside. Breathe deeply. Sleep well. Happy mind, happy body, happy you.
